@simon In this case would the existence of the class on the `body` mean it should essentially ignore/override the media query?

@simon Forgot you cannot use CSS variables within media queries so my question is less important now. 😔 Such a tricky problem!I think what other folks have said is right — you're probably stuck having to duplicate it for now.

@simon This one is amusing, too:```Disallow: /Explodingstuff/```That account has a repo hosting active malware! https://github.com/Explodingstuff/WannaCry

This is very cool and honestly does a better job of giving concrete examples of Cloudflare's offerings than most of its docs do. But also — holy platform lock. đŸ˜”â€đŸ’«https://blog.cloudflare.com/welcome-to-wildebeest-the-fediverse-on-cloudflare/

@ken lol I don't even necessarily mean it as a bad thing, just in awe of just how much typical stack stuff CF has their own flavor of nowI do think Durable Objects are very cool and hope every service shamelessly steals that concept

@simon @eric The only GitHub issue for this component is asking about accessibility concerns so YMMV, but I've used GitHub's `include-fragment-element` to accomplish that first bullet point a few times and I found it to be pretty handy. https://github.com/github/include-fragment-elementI think everything in your list could really gel with a custom element approach.

I don’t want public agencies to set up Mastodon accounts in the wake of Twitter’s ongoing implosion, I want them to set up functioning RSS feeds

I appreciate you all, but please — you do not have to reply to this and explain to me how Mastodon works, I know every account is an RSS feedIf you replied with "why not both?" you're not wrong, but you are missing my point — I am not against public agencies using Mastodon, I just do not want them to repeat the same mistakes they made with Twitter and other platforms

One of my favorite accounts on Twitter was for the National Weather Service's Los Angeles branch. It was a constant feed of useful information and visuals. Like many other accounts this month they announced that due to Twitter's plan to tamp down on automated posts that they expect the feed to break. The problem with this? They do not publish the steady feed of information like this *anywhere* else. Its RSS feed has been stagnant for years. https://twitter.com/NWSLosAngeles/status/1644123245006958593

If a public agency wants to create an official Mastodon server it controls (or use one a jurisdiction above them sets up) — that's great! They should do that. I'd love to see a dedicated National Weather Service instance. But this shouldn't happen at the expense of having their web sites actually be **useful**. So start putting all this information on their sites again. Get that stuff back into those dormant RSS feeds.*Then* they can pipe that wherever they want (including Mastodon)!

@ken @tealtan They’ve also committed to releasing a Mac version I think the first week of SeptemberLarian’s other games (Divinity 2) run great on Macs, they do a solid job of ensuring their games are playable across a range of devices

keep thinking about how many people have been either reassigned or straight up fired for much less than what Theo Baker brazenly has done in the last 48 hours, and I again feel despair
