@selea Some time ago i was looking for the exact same thing. I tried YOURLS but didn't get familiar with it.I've ended up in using devShort, which is more of a "link renamer" than a link shortener. You can assign a meaningful (whatever that means to you) name for arbitrary URIs. My instance is running on https://clttr.info for an example.The original project on GitHub disappeared, so i started maintaining a fork: https://src.clttr.info/rwa/devshort

Auf den anderen Instanzen werden längere Posts komplett angezeigt - je nach Darstellung (z.B. diese mehrspaltige Version in der Mastodon-Web-Ansicht) kann das aber unübersichtlich werden oder es gibt irgendwo ein "Weiterlesen" das man klicken muss damit man alles sieht. Andere #Fediverse Dienste wie #Friendica, #Pleroma oder #Misskey haben m.W. auch kein festes Zeichenlimit.Keine Ahnung warum sich die Mastodon-Nutzer so gerne selbst beschränken. 😉 Letztendlich ist das eine Einstellung in der Software, die für mastodon.bayern geändert wurde.
