@Gargron "documentation" definitely feels unclear and wordy to me.As a native English speaker, I don't think "help" is patronising, but from a UX perspective it would be better to provide help where it's needed, ideally inline, with links to more detail where necessary.I suspect very few people will click on the small link in the footer anyway.

Incidentally Tasmota on an ESP32 is pretty cool for this. Full RGBW colour mixing with only some additional MOSFETs required.You can control over HTTP or it integrates nicely with Home Assistant over MQTT.

Started measuring CO2 concentration in my office and it's somewhat higher than I expected.I am not sure about the calibration of this CO2 sensor which has been sitting in a box for several years though.

@fribbledom It's a SenseAir K30 which someone sent me ages ago. (It still seems to be way out of calibration despite having an auto-calibration function which should correct it over time)There are cheaper options now though, such as these ones https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32916782044.html

Fuck Brexit, fuck Putin, and fuck Covid. This is by far the hardest event I've ever run and it seems our suppliers aren't doing great either. I'm pretty sure EMF 2022 is going to be tremendous, and I hope you can join us because I honestly feel like I'm seeing the end of an era of great live events in the UK.

I had a chat with someone from our main power supplier the other day. They've been such a good supplier to EMF and I've never heard someone so despondent.They've had to retire a load of generators due to emissions regulations, and replacements are double the cost and have a 6-8 month lead time. They've had to massively cut back their business for this year and I think we're the only festival they're supplying.It pains me to see such a vibrant events business fall apart before my eyes.

Turns out a lot of the labour behind the UK's events scene was from eastern Europe, for better or worse.Covid sent them back home and Brexit stopped them from coming back. There's a massive labour shortage now.

A lot of these businesses relied on government-backed loans to get through the pandemic, and they have to repay these now.They have to run events or they'll be bankrupted, but a lot of suppliers have been destroyed by Covid. Result is a massive supply squeeze.

We're lucky because we're a voluntary event. We don't have salaries to pay and livelihoods on the line.I'm afraid for the rest of the events business, and I'm glad we don't have another event for two years. Because I think the next two years will be brutal for the UK's genuinely world-leading live events scene.
