@mekkaokereke The best thing white people can do is call out the racism where it lives. The second best thing is to learn the subtle encodings in every day life that are taught as good "history" and learn to see the Whitewashing that removes all positivity toward black and indigenous peoples. So many folksie phrasings are racist. Taught two 20-somethings yesterday why "paddy wagon" was racist terminology. It's not anti-black, but it's racist in it's roots.

@foozma73 Iām with the working woman. She was asked to help with adding dollars, to what I presume is a full time job being wife and mother. Unless hubby antes up and starts doing all the housework, sheās now contributing $s as requested.

@peggycollins I wonder if the resident birds at popular birding spots miss their human friends when they donāt show up. I know the shore birds at the popular non-birder ālets toss bread to the ducksā space get really cranky around their normal feeding time.

@futurebird It's a perspective thing. My Mon did real estate, and my brain hears "starter home" as a small 1-2 bedroom home for a young "just starting life together" couple with zero or maybe one kiddos, that is affordable and comfortable until the family size grows. The next home would be the larger multi-generational home where grandparents and extended family might move in. Not necessarily a mansion, just sized for more people.

@futurebird I remember the day I was told I was white. My HS drama club was "borrowing" a neighboring community's HS auditorium for a production while ours was being renovated. The area served by this HS was definitely very bluecollar/redneck white vs our home which was artistic/hippy white, but also with significant Jewish percentage.The borrowed HS was public, but the community very christian. 1/
