I've read a lot of discussion on various sites after Github announced requiring 2FA (two-factor authentication). Not long before that there was discussion after Twitter started to charge for SMS 2FA login support. Both times, there was confusion in particular with regards to #TOTP (Time-based One Time Password) Authenticator Apps, with plenty of invalid comments, some common ones being:• You need to use a smart phone• TOTP exposes your phone number• You are locked into a big-tech provider

@paul Devon is pretty nice though (I noticed the flag on your profile). I actually went to school in Bideford for a few years (Grenville College), which is now called Kingsley School apparently, after merging with Edgehill.🤔 Shame it was not merged back in the day. I would have liked to have a few girls around growing up.@Vivaldi

@aral I logged it as VB-106054. That does not tell you much directly as the bug tracker entry is not public but perhaps handy for you if you were to mention/discuss the problem with others having a similar issue, should you want to bring it up again with us, or if you are looking out for it in a furture changelog. That sort of thing. 🤷🏼P.S. Can you open the about page and just confirm the exact version number of Vivaldi you are running? Thanks in advance!

@aral Installed from flatpak, I presume? I will update it shortly. That might improve things.

RE: https://social.vivaldi.net/@ruario/115711283431190976Today, the Vivaldi team was quick on our security bug fix release. Opera, Edge, and Brave are still not up to date.[Yes … this is a joke. Though also factually true, which is more than I can say for some people 😜 ]

But in all seriousness, take it with a pinch of salt and check with the vendor directly if you really care. Checking this stuff is hard.Honestly, at best I can really only say, "I *think* the others have not updated but I may be wrong."Also expect bias when I talk about competitors [and expect the same from representatives of other browsers].
