And yes the LED on these is more than powerful enough. All it needs is a better light spreader, which is just a thin bit of plastic. Casio could make these work great out of the box. They choose not to presumably so you are encouraged to upgrade by buying another watch from them.But I the joke is on them, mine is fixed and yet I still bought a shit ton of extra watches from them!!!! Ha… wait, what? 🤔

I made a small thing. Just a little automated masto account @archivetoolstracker to track updates to 7-Zip and RAR (WinRAR). Why!? 🤔 These types of archiving tools are very handy but have been known to have security issues (both had exploits last year). Plus they don't always provide automatic update mechanisms on most platforms. 😉It should be a very low volume of posts (maybe 5 a year? 🤷). Follow and click 🔔 for an actual notification. Or just follow via RSS. 😉 #7zip #WinRAR #RAR

Which reminds me, why don't all software companies have RSS/ATOM feeds for update notifications? Unobtrusive, opt-in and so low effort, especially so if you are not going to integrate automatic updates.

@lanodan Are we still using scp. I recall a few years back people saying to disable it and just use sftp though I don't really recall why. Perhaps only relevant if SSH is not configured for login. 🤷

@lanodan Nice, thanks and did not know it did recursion.I'm a try pipe guy and sometimes cpio for the lulz (I know its limitations for modern systems). What I like is that I can filter lists of what is copied with find, which is super powerful. Also I get to pick the comptessor, e.g. zstd or lz4, which is not an option for rsync AFAIK. But then again I basically never use rsync so much of its capabilities are probably just unknown to me.
