@mangeurdenuage @nerthos as someone who literally keeps supply chains going by keeping forklifts in action, I can totally relate.I have knowledge of, and repair, engines/transmissions, electrical DC control and AC inverters up to 80V, hydraulics... Companies literally lose tens of thousands dollars when these machines stop working and stuff can't ship. Yet we struggle to get paid $25-30/hour NZD.I have a family and can't afford the hit to income to retrain in a higher paying field, so am just trying to maxmise what I do and take on more managerial responsibility - even though that makes me actually less productive at fixing shit.I honestly enjoy what I do as it's very rewarding, but the realisation that I picked the wrong field (as far as income goes) when I left school was a bitter pill to swallow.Money isn't everything, but it sure helps.

@Kro @dielan @moonman I had an account there because it lookers like a gaming instance... until I noticed a reply to a post that I couldnāt see when I was on my fosstodon account. Like wtf are they doing blocking half the fediverse without displaying reasons for doing so... so I migrated to nineties.cafeIf you trust your users, you shouldnāt need to block at the instance level that much. Sheesh. It was so annoying I couldnāt interact with a legitimate comment from that account. I would have had no idea if I hadnāt noticed the comment go by in my feed in fosstodon. Oh jank.town is where I keep an eye on Pleroma, as Iād like to self-host one day.
