@Gargron My usual recommendation is to store an enqueue timestamp in each job and then monitor the mean/median/p95 time in queue using statsd or some other standard tool. It's a more reliable metric than raw queue size or derivatives thereof.

It is SUPER CREEPY that Mailchimp has a tool to create Google Display ads which only appear to people who have unsubscribed from one of your mailing lists.

@JPEG sharing images from a share sheet always fails for me. Is there anything to look at to debug this?

@JPEG yesterday, I took a screenshot and used the share sheet to post to to Mast with a short text body. It still has not appeared in my feed. Not sure where to look for any more info. I've had this happen a few times in the last week.

@sir msgpack and cbor are both better options than BSON if you want a good fast binary serialization of JSON

@sir are there no SAX-style event-based parsers and generators in the environment you're using?

Just found out that I had a #COVID close contact on Saturday. Frustrated that basically every testing site is closed. FFS, just because people want to *make believe* COVID is over doesn't mean it actually is over.

Figured out why the kitchen smells musty the last few days; there's a leak behind the sink. Here comes a hideously expensive repair project!Old houses suck -- everything breaks constantly and it's twice as expensive as modern fixtures to repair. Too bad the Bay Area hasn't built any housing in 40 years and most of the housing stock was cheaply built >100 years ago and is now on its last legs...
