@penguin42 seems like any of the cheap scopes would do the job. They all have so many more features than anything more than about 10 years old. Rigol and siglent seem to be the best but they are not the cheapest.

@dick_turpin many years ago our IT supplier tried to explain something similar to us. We had a shiny new server (MS SBS) all win desktops and were then told we needed more "cal" licences. We couldn't get it, why would you need a separate licence (but no more software) to connect 2 windows machines you've just bought? Seemed like a rip off. We don't use windows anymore, it's got too complicated and we are but simple folk.

@dick_turpin we went down at 8am to collect veg (ordered) and pies (ordered). Had to queue for the bread but worth it. Will all have been gone by about 10am.
