@starlocke @rice Goodhart's law. Time spent in the office isn't actually a good metric of productivity, and when you treat it that way you just incentivize time-wasting behavior. Salaried positions have reviews, deadlines, and managers, to make sure work is getting done. Especially in more mental-focused professions, people can be more productive by spending less time on work
