@jeffjarvis I've come to conclusion that using words like hallucinate is part of a deliberate effort to make people think of these technologies as similar to human Intelligence. Similar to the vast amount of time spent making robots dance so we anthropomorphise them.

@aral I think the question remains are the voters themselves big enough to hear what needs to be done even when if doesn't personally benefit them, what it will cost them and still vote in that direction. We all know the answer is no, which is why you find former conservative voting green and former labour voters voting reform. Neither of which represent a coherant set of values.

@aral I think Macron is running out of options and time. But, is chaos where a divided country in which a left wing minority or a right wing minority insist that their no compromises vision should take presidence instead of working with who ever they can work with an compromising to achieve some of their agenda.Currently in Europe we have right wing and left wing versions of this emerging.And of course even when they get in they have to deliver, and patience runs out quickly when they don't.
