One thing I like about Mastodon as a network, and especially running my own service, is that I don't actually feel the need to "be here" at all times. I can take breaks, indulge in my other hobbies, and otherwise just live a life. My server is not going anywhere. I can come back at any time I want.

I am excited to replace my secondary display tomorrow. Picked up a second refurb Studio Display to replace my 4K LG Thunderbolt display. I *swear* I am done now. Amy is going to fucking kill me if she ever finds out what my setup cost.

@benoit In fairness I don't think she would be too mad if she knew, I do use all of this to make the money that keeps us fed and happy... but I think I would have a seriously difficult time explaining why I replaced a perfectly good display with another (much more expensive) display. I think for me it's easy to justify because I just can't get anything this high quality that is also anti-glare like I can with the Studio Display. I do need to find a use for this 4K LG though.

I refuse to even consider criticizing Ukraine for deciding to attack inside Russia or Belarus borders. If you want to be a belligerent and attack a country unprovoked while targeting civilians you deserve every bit of what you get.

I have never been more proud to be from the Carolinas in my entire life. The amount of selfless sacrifice from my neighbors and people from other states and cities has been overwhelming. Met a crew of linesmen helping us out here today, and they are from all backgrounds, political stripes, and codes and their only driving mission is to help us here and it is truly emotional for me. The gravity of this situation is finally starting to settle in for me, and though the loss is hard to fathom, the "git 'r done" ethos here is insane. From radio amateurs, skilled tradesmen, and other people just picking up the pieces, setting aside the grief and suffering they themselves are dealing with to help others no matter who they are or who they know... it's a lot y'all.

Ignoring the Supreme Court order should be considered a breach of the oath of office and immediate action should be taken to impeach and remove this lawless president. I didn't think I would have to explain this on the Fediverse, but since I am still seeing people finger wag about the Waymos:Google and Waymo are legitimate targets. They flat out said they would be providing footage from their cars to the police and other agencies. Disabling those cars is an act against the belligerent combatants themselves.If tech wants to become Trump's new panopticon supplier, they can and should be under the understanding that they aren't neutral third parties.

There has never been something more cowardly, embarrassing, or disrespectful to the oath as a bunch of soldiers standing with weapons ready to attack Americans in Los Angeles.
