yo dawg, I heard you like _our_ messaging apps so I built a platform so _you_ can build your own messaging apps on top of our messaging apps"Generative AI App Builder: Businesses and governments also want to build their own AI-powered chat interfaces and digital assistants. To enable this, we are introducing Generative AI App Builder, which connects conversational AI flows with out of the box search experiences”https://blog.google/technology/ai/ai-developers-google-cloud-workspace/

(kidding aside, many of these features look *excellent*, and I expect will make several of the core Workspace apps much better)

@seldo I had seen a prompt to install the Meet web app, and a few days later tried to find it to give it a try on my Mac. Landed on a Google support page that started with that, and I won't lie, it made my day

“If you want to make batteries or cars, you might need nickel. If you buy some nickel from a nickel merchant, and she delivers it to you, and you open the box, and the box is full of rocks painted to look like nickel, you will be disappointed. You will not be able to make a battery or a car with a box of rocks.” If you're not reading Matt Levine's newsletter, you're *really* missing out. https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2023-03-21/jpmorgan-had-some-fake-nickel#xj4y7vzkg

@david interesting. for what I'm using it for, I've found it to be great. But to your points, I'm not working on code, or limericks. I've been playing w/ChatGPT since it launched, but haven't had time to dig into GPT4, so I'm admittedly behind in having apples-to-apples comparisons. But for content generation / iteration, summarization of long threads, etc., I've found it to be very good

used Bard this morning to figure out how to phrase a Google Sheet formula that I was pretty sure I could stumble through (involving =CONCATENATE, and a whole bunch of IF/THEN logic) but I really didn't want to have to think about. So I wrote a plain language explanation of what I wanted the final result to be. Bard gave me a good answer, but didn't take into account that for a given row, some cells will be empty, and need to be skipped. So I clarified – again, in plain English. And Bard nailed the end result. Took me ~2 minutes (vs the hour I figured it'd need for me to trial/error it). Not hard to see how this will blow peoples' minds when it's incorporated natively into Workspace.

seriously though, Apple support is consistently amazing. Noticed the back on my iPhone was cracked tonight (no idea how – haven't dropped it, don't think it's been dinged recently) and after a 5 minute chat converation, I have an appointment 15 hours later to get the back replaced.(Since Apple Care is still in effect, I think this will be at no additional cost.)Compared to other services I rely on (ahem, Google), this is just so much better.
