@w3c I'm curious as to why you chose being nice, rather than being kind?As well-noted, "nice people made the best Nazis", and niceness is too often used as a cudgel against those who state truths honestly and directly.Being nice means not afflicting the comfortable, it's a way to avoid or blunt all fair criticism, and always only helps the oppressor.Kindness allows for direct, blunt, honest, and fair criticism in a way that eschews being mean or ugly; hopefully your true goal.

@clayrivers @StillIRise1963 We're the second post-Civil Rights generation, but the first to have those legal protections last from childhood into adulthood.We're also the second post-Civil Rights generation to lose such legal protections.It's like waves on a beach, rising, receding and sometimes reaching further onshore, but always returning to the depths.This constant, slow churn has surely made me seasick. I hate that we can't yet get to tenths and hundreds.

@samir @StillIRise1963 Virginia Key beach, just south of Miami Beach, was where we could swim.We weren't allowed to swim at Miami Beach, and Jews couldn't stay at most of the big hotels there (South Beach as we know it now didn't exist, that's where the Jews could live and swim).

My tech burnout is real and just when I think I'm ready to get back in, I learn that some of the tools and hardware I'm considering are made by nazis.Yes, at this point everyone who is far-right, and adjacent, are fucking nazis.There's zero time, space, or reason for nuance on this because that's how we reached this point and how they'll get so many more crushed under their heels.Don't want you and/or your family and friends to be called nazis, then don't act or speak like nazis. Simple.
