@BrodieOnLinux I suspect a fork is almost inevitable, despite (or because of?) having been on Wayland for two years. The boring but important parts get no traction. Things like IMEs.And I hate the fact that the compositor does *everything*. If you don't like the behavior of the compositor for one reason of another you have to either switch WM entirely, or fork the it. I've already had to modify the compositor multiple times, and switched WM twice.

@BrodieOnLinux two monitors with different refresh rates. Every single X11 compositor tearing as a result.

@eniko Minecraft has that through the Distant Horizons mod. It's not perfect but it works really well, and does add a lot to the game once you experience it. Also makes it really easy to navigate without relying on coordinates. 😄https://youtu.be/M31DhtoNh9w

@stefano that advice also applies to monitoring scheduled backup jobs (or any other automated process). I use a service that emails me if I don't hit a specific URL roughly every 24 hours, and I hit that at the end of my backup job if it was successful.Better than finding out the hard way at some point in the future that something happened with my backup job, preventing it from running for the last month.
