@cybette @cfgmgmtcamp I've been pondering on a proposal or two, thanks for the reminder about deadline !Do you happen to know if there is "etiquette" about proposing the same topics to FOSDEM and cfg mgmt camp ?I have limited time and they would be a good fit for both 😅

@cybette @cfgmgmtcamp Thanks !I've been out of the loop and didn't realize the devroom had been rejected, I figured it had been folded into the CI/CD or Testing and Automation tracks.Too bad !

I am thrilled to share that I'll be presenting two talks about @ansible and @ara at the upcoming Config Management Camp:- https://cfp.cfgmgmtcamp.org/2023/talk/AA8BMC/- https://cfp.cfgmgmtcamp.org/2023/talk/8DEWML/The first will be fun and the second is a follow up to last year's FOSDEM presentation to go deeper.Between the camp and FOSDEM, it will be a great opportunity to reconnect with friends from all around the world and I can't wait.If you'll be going, feel free to reach out and we can find time to chat or hack on stuff !

If I have friends (or friends of friends) that use #Ansible and #Prometheus every day, I could use your help on a new Prometheus exporter for Ansible metrics.Check this toot for more information: https://fosstodon.org/@ara/110582123918416479Thanks !

I got my first copy of Minecraft from Mojang back in 2010 (before the first alpha!) and got two more for my kids many years later. It was great and I was happy to support them. Then, they got acquired by Microsoft for 2.5 billions. They eventually started requiring players to migrate to a Microsoft account. Now I guess I am forfeiting my purchases because I'm not interested in any of that.I would expect the same thing is coming for Activision/Blizzard games and any other acquisition.

Thanks to this, though, I've discovered Minetest which is a great free and open source alternative. It has texture packs, mods, multiplayer and it's probably already packaged for your Linux distribution. It runs out of the box on any Fedora machine I've run it from and the kids love it.Check it out if you're interested:- https://www.minetest.net/- https://github.com/minetest/minetest

Look around you at all the outages caused by Crowdstrike today. Then, ponder for a moment about all these organizations sending their data to this one provider for "security purposes".Crowdstrike is not immune to issues or breaches, just like Snowflake.Just saying.

Over the past 20 years I've lived and went through the Docker, OpenStack and Kubernetes hype cycles (amongst others) and now there's AI.Everything was so much simpler when it was all about LAMP stacks on dumb dedicated servers.I'm tired.
