I’m a non-binary programmer obsessed with film (from the beginning of commercial showings to the present day) and with old TV series. My preferences tend toward the fantastic, particularly science fiction and horror, but I dabble in just about everything.I wrote indie comics once upon a time and swear I’ll one day finish writing that novel.Happily married and living in a house owned by a succession of cats#introduction

@SDF Thanks for the hard work! I know all of us flooding in have strained the system considerably, so thanks for struggling through and meeting the challenge!

I’ve been watching a handful of American mid-century historical war #movies lately, and I wonder if part of the fascination was that the early nuclear age was all too aware of how warfare had become about mass slaughter instead of individual action and ability. Going back to swords and even early rifles allows for the individualist heroism that our society craved. While I’m musing, I think it was the spy movie that offered the way back into modern settings for war and action films.

@Ricardus They are, admittedly historical romance set in war, rather than war movies per se.

Spent four days without power, and now I think I’ve forgotten how to program.
