moving into student halls after years of ~5Mbps ADSL and there suddenly just... being an Ethernet port with 1Gbps symmetric internet access and a routable public IP... that was a feeling.

I kinda hope this was a bit by Clive but… if not, it was heartwarming to see how negative the reaction to AI stuff was.

Values are important. Don’t mock me for having them. Good luck with your future endeavours.

Watched two ARC Raiders streamers discover that if two people snap-hook the same item at once it is accelerated enormously and flung into outer space. If you tag the item first you can see the distance and play “golf” with the mechanic/bug lmao.

Okay so I think the weird constant charging/discharging cycle thing has stopped happening on my inverter with the latest firmware… not holding my breath but it seems to have stopped for now…

It’s sat at 10% now (MinSoC) and the inverter is pulling 30W, so it’s definitely not trickle-charging the battery.

@whitequark cursed but some Chinese manufacturers use speaker terminals (the press and insert type) for this. I've even seen them used for 120V mains. :blobfoxscared:

@mullvadnet do you have some more information about the "ban" here? I'd like to write to the ASA to complain about that decision if possible. I can't see a ruling entry for it on the ASA site.

Amazing. The DHL app can’t help you find a DHL pick up location because the in-app embedded web browser is not supported.

It's an optional field in the userdb JSON object. It's not a policy engine, not an API for apps. We just define the field, so that it's standardized iff people want to store the date there, but it's entirely optional.Lie by omission here. Clearly the reason for this being added is AV. Imagine it was a "sexualOrientation or "ethnicBackground" field that just got added because $government suddenly made that sort of thing a hot topic... "oh it's just part of the JSON schema, it's not up to us to decide how people use those fields! Fuck off. systemd should have no knowledge of any of that. It's irrelevant to the operation of the system.Playing into the hands of fascists and he knows it and doesn't want it discussed or highlighted.

I also hate project owners and maintainers that close down discussion like this full-stop. It's not like it's taking place in your front room, Lennart. If people want to discuss it and decide whether they agree or not, let them.

What methods to circumvent online safety rules do you think children in the UK use, beyond Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), or similar technologies?nice try, gov.
