@neil this was all so, so unnecessary. Idiot politicians strike again. A softer, more friendly touch would have worked far better. “Hey, you’re not compliant, if you want to carry on offering services to UK users, please follow these steps. If you don’t become compliant, we may ask UK ISPs to restrict access to your site. You could lose lots of traffic.” instead of “we are the empire! Defy our censors and face punitive fines!”.

@publius many are choosing that option. It’s the safest for sure. But it’s depressing. @neil

@aral when I first saw this title on the developer site I thought it was going to be a Jobsian era “antenna gate” style mea culpa from Apple saying “yeah, we made some mistakes, here’s how we’re fixing them”

Not a single person in this debate has mentioned the responsibility of parents to control what their kids do online. Not one. #OnlineSafetyAct

What the fuck is the point in this? Isn't a debate supposed to be "people who believe one thing clash in an intellectual discussion with people who believe something to the contrary"? If they couldn't find MPs to espouse a dissenting view on the OSA view then privacy campaigners and industry experts should have been invited.

moving into student halls after years of ~5Mbps ADSL and there suddenly just... being an Ethernet port with 1Gbps symmetric internet access and a routable public IP... that was a feeling.

I kinda hope this was a bit by Clive but… if not, it was heartwarming to see how negative the reaction to AI stuff was.

Watched two ARC Raiders streamers discover that if two people snap-hook the same item at once it is accelerated enormously and flung into outer space. If you tag the item first you can see the distance and play “golf” with the mechanic/bug lmao.

Okay so I think the weird constant charging/discharging cycle thing has stopped happening on my inverter with the latest firmware… not holding my breath but it seems to have stopped for now…

It’s sat at 10% now (MinSoC) and the inverter is pulling 30W, so it’s definitely not trickle-charging the battery.
