@stux I missed this launch. I wonder what area of the earth these will cover. I set up my friend's Starlink last summer. It took 20 minutes and worked perfectly ever since. Rain, snow, and fog are not a problem, amazing.

@stux I hired an admin for my linux box (Slackware) in the 90's when I was doing a bunch of the first big websites. He went on to be Twitter employee #4 or 6 I forget. The stories he has will never be told in public, they are insane. Mudge, the whistleblower at Twitter, lived near me, and ran the l0pft in Boston, an early hacker gang that went legit. Being in Boston in the early 90's when the web first started was the best!

@stux when FB integrated all their various codebases about five years ago, they told the US government that it was for easier management and security. What they really did was tie everything together so that profiles were permanent, cross-site sharing was a default, and so on.
