@textfiles just wanted to thank you again for this. Just played my first game of this is over a decade and it was great. The emulation even worked well on my iPhone. I’m so glad this game has been preserved!!! I I’ve been googling for it like one a year for ages!

Saw folks reporting that they can now log in with third party clients like Tweetbot again. I tried it and it works, but I almost preferred it being gone. Less temptation to stare into the flames of the burning trash, breathing the fumes. That said, if this gives developers like @paul and @bigzaphod more breathing room to start preparing their users and businesses for the end, I’m all for it.

Huge #retrogaming news this weekend: GG Aleste 3, a brand new Aleste game for Game Gear developed my M2 and released as part of the Aleste Collection on consoles, is finally playable on real hardware! The rom was extracted over 3 years ago but had possibly deliberate incompatibilities with real hardware and emulators. They’ve now been patched! I am in the market for a 5K “Retina display” monitor, but it annoys me to no end that none of them have any video inputs other than a single USB-C input. I have multiple computers at my desk! I’ve had it for over a year, and my interest in the @playdate definitely declined after the end of the first season of games, but lately I’ve come back to it and I’m enjoying it more and more! Space Rat Miner and Under The Castle are both incredible. Turns out the system is great for roguelikes!

The new Bluesky butterfly logo is really good branding. I love it immediately.As much as I love Mastodon as a platform, the Mastodon itself has never been great branding. Connotations of ancient/dead (ie “went the way of the Mastodon”), or alternately, the Republican Party elephant.
