       @original_algernon Local has nothing to do with geography. Mastodon is a bunch of separate networks (called instances) connected to each other, and the local timeline just what's happening on your instance - in this case, mastodon.socialIt takes some getting used to

       @solidsanek I tend to type a lot, too, but I've started writing by hand a lot more, and it's just awful. And even when I wrote by hand more often, people still looked at my handwriting, baffled by how I could read such a mess

       @solidsanek I don't know, I have no romantic attachment to writing by hand - it's often useful because it feels like a different thought process, but I have no real attachment to it.
