The skies are as full of airplanes as they ever were; the highways are full of cars and trucks. Plastics are everywhere. Clean water's drying up. Yet "growth" is king.I just don't see what I can do about it. Seriously, what can the individual do that will matter one whit?Would halving the number of cars, people, cattle, do the trick? How? Nobody take vacations? Outlaw boats? Plant victory gardens? Ration fuel? Collect scrap metal? What?I don't know. An interesting thing about Canberra is that it was designed by Prairie School architects Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony Griffin early last century. It is an entirely planned city. @futurebird I bought a [library book] truckful of records from the Hennepin County Library in #Minneapolis some years ago. Now, the library's augmenting its vinyl collection with a call to patrons asking them to consider donating their collections! What goes around comes around.

@futurebird Well put. The membrane control panel is the only quibble I have against our induction range; we're used to exquisite sensitivity on our self-phone screens and the membrane just doesn't compare.Also, having to reach above a pot of boiling water to poke at the panel is sub-par.That's a design consideration I wish I had thought of when I was purchasing. I'd go with a front panel with rotary knobs if there's ever a next time.
