someone: "I have realised a while ago that the worst thing you can be isn't a racist or a facist. It's to be ugly, disabled, degenerate, sexually deviant."Because when they express hatred against a fascist, they don't mock their fascism. They mock their belly, their ill-fitting clothes, their ugly old face, the colour of their teeth or how they comb their hair. They mock his small penis, or that his penis is weird, or they mock that he's secretly gay or he's about to get raped so much in prison. They don't mock that she's racist, that she destroyed the livelihood of millions of families, that she defends war and the police apparatus. They mock that she's a bitch, that her voice is annoying, that she did plastic surgery or doesn't do sex or do too much sex."When a fascist trips in the public eye, those people who identify as progressive, but all along are eager for an opportunity to tear down someone for having low-brow tastes, for eating steak with ketchup, for being ugly or dumb or fat or old – they see a green light to engage that desire, and jump on it with glee."

@tante also "free software" as an ideology suffers from a severe lack of class consciousness."if the user doesn't control the software, the software becomes an unjust means of control"—this is absolutely correct. but that's just because software is one instance of means of production. in general, it is unethical that means of production are controlled by a small class of owners. proprietary lands, proprietary buildings, proprietary factories, proprietary art, proprietary medicine and housing and natural resources—are all bad for the same reason that proprietary software is, only even more so, because much more far-reaching.free software advocates often show a glaring lack of social perspective. you are not able to software anything at all if there weren't people making the microchips, the buildings you live in, the clothes you wear the food you eat; what about *their* tools and IP being all proprietary and used for unjust control? and how does that relate to "freedom 0" empowering said owners to coop the labour of free software hobbyists to tighten up social control even more?see also:https://ethicalsource.dev/licenses/

kinda in a postlefty mood these days. like not that I think leftism is an empty category, or that ending capitalism—capitalism proper, the private ownership of the means of production—isn't a worthwhile goal to dedicate oneself to.it's more that I've come to realise that most people active in the Left are not really on my side. like they're not *against* me, but they're not on my side either. if you are at war you need allies. people who are not the enemy aren't necessarily allies. they're just, kinda there?my overwhelmingly urgent question is, who can you phone when the fascists come for you? most people on the Left think I mean this rhetorically, metaphorically, or in a "it could happen here" kind of way. I mean it literally. I've been in that situation, multiple times, this year. and most people I know who are active in the Left, they wouldn't come. their concerns just aren't my concerns. most people I know who are active in the Left are working as hard as they can at convincing themselves that there's no war in Ba Sing Se.main reason I'm not coming out and saying I'm post-left is that post-left anarchism is a Thing, it's like a specific subculture with a certain crew, and that crew is, if anything, even less my crew than the Left people.

I would kill the Nazis who tried to kill me. I would not rape them, or their mothers or wives. I would think that goes without saying, but apparently not.I blame First World's people glorification of peace. It leads them to a binary, where there are two worlds, the world of peace that they inhabit, and the world of violence which remains foreign and Other (and that, as I've experienced numerous times, they will pay any price to keep that way).So when they are forced to recognise the legitimacy of violence, they look at it like at a primitive, uncognoscible subhumanity, incapable of ethical complexity ("a vicious tribal conflict", in that USian's words).Palestinians are clearly justified in violent resistance, therefore Hamas is justified in the weaponisation of rape. By which alchemy "Hamas" is made to equal "Palestinians" (in erasure of Palestinians who oppose them, or are oppressed by them as well as the settlers). and "rape" equals "violence" equals "resistance".The irony being that the people these white folk are using as comparison when they say "tribal"--the State-refusing, indigenous folk of the world--have for millenia developed cultures of war, whole ethics of war, completely lost on the "civil" peace-lovers.

oh for fucks sake--this place is infested with actual literal fucking nazis with known names and addresses parading NSDAP symbols on trains and goosestepping unmasked in rallies, and the German antifa does nothing but ritually shout slogans and whine about "opsec", but when it comes to breaking the windows of brown immigrants to throw pig fat, suddenly the #antid cowards finally grow some guts to do direct action??"Antifa heißt Antisemit:innen angreifen" yeah then where were you when we were coming to blows with the men stockpiling weapons who actually enact hate attacks on sinagogues? You known where the nazis live and you don't have the guts to throw a single molotov for DECADES, but throwing pig fat at an immigrant community centre, that's when you finally get your white asses out of the plenum? The antideutsche are the deutschest deutsches I've ever met and the antideutsche tokenisation of Jewish people is nothing but white saviourism.#LaCasa #Leipzig

if there's one thing 2020–2023 taught me, is that there's no collapse line in the sand. no matter how bad things get, it will all be promptly normalised. I fully expect everyone to be required to go sit in an office to work on spreadsheets even if we need hazmat suits for the commute

I still can't swallow that "hostile architecture" is a thing that exists, let alone that it's so widespread worldwide as it is now.hostile architecture will be remembered in the future as emblematic of everything that's wrong with our society.

       > Sometimes exclusionary design is not about adding features, but rather about taking them away. Fredrik Edin, who has written a book on exclusionary design, says that removal is the most common type of exclusionary design, where, for example, benches used by the public are removed precisely because they are used by the public.[63]this also applies to basically everything that used to be common goods

I don't think most of the Anglosphere is getting that Milei isn't just a run-of-the-mill fascist. He's a *Miltonian* fascist.Fairy tales about free markets have always been sold to American countries by the USA to scam them out of their wealth, but the USA attitude of "free market for thee, protectionism for me" makes the game pretty obvious. As a result the decades of privatisation have been transparently just the selling-out of cynical politicians who don't really believe in the liberal gospel other than as polemics for electoral cultural wars. Figures like Bolsonaro always lived in tension with the campaign promises of liberalisation, and the fascist impulse to have a strongman military State own all national resources.Milei is, as far as anyone can ascertain, a true believer. And the Argentinian elite is desperate enough that, who knows, they might not rein him as much as the Brazilian "big center" puppetered Bolsonaro. It remains to be seen, but we might in the next few years have the spectacle of watching those free-market-libertarian theories, that have always failed so catrastrophically at small tryouts, get at last the reach and opportunity and resources to fail at unprecedented levels.

The new legal hostility to queer and trans people in Italy, Madrid etc. should give one pause. Some Europeans seem to think this is a problem for backward USA folk. The goal of fascists is what Russia is doing right now and as Sweden, Netherlands etc. proved, no place is safe from fascists. Rights can be lost *very* fast. People seem to think Germany is beyond going backwards on queer safety but Weimar was totally gay too, and the fascists this turn are demonising queer people heavily, you have to understand: no matter where you are, a Russia-like scenario isn't off the table. you have to make yourself and your friends ready to fight, and I don't mean that as a metaphor for voting.

my support of Rojava is critical support, with my main criticisms being the cult of personality around Öcalan and the dangers of nationalism and hierarchisation. my support of EZLN is critical for the same reasons.of the two, I simpathise with the EZLN more because the leader figure is stated to be explicitly a fiction, has done a better job of undermining his own authority at least in theory, and generally has a theory that is more acommodating of different modes of governance. the Zapatistas I talked to are more like, "this is what worked for us, you do your thing"—a world that contains many worlds. my Apoist friends are more like, Rêber Apo's Democratic Confederalism is *the* one solution for the world.in both cases I maintain support because I've witnessed resistance to authoritarian tendencies within the movement itself. in both cases I am unambiguously and materially supportive of their armed resistance to nearby powers, which is 100% justified.participants of either revolution can counter my criticisms by pointing that it's easy for me to maintain ideological purity when I still participate in and benefit from my privileges in the capitalist system, while they're, like, at least actually fighting, building, trying; and they're correct.

You want my position statement? Here's my position fucking statement. Anarchy for life, anarchy until death, I'll go down fighting before compromising, no bending knees, no to any authority, the ends never justify the means, all governments have only the right to be abolished, death to all those who stand in the way of freedom.

@fcktheworld587 @emma In Germany? Migrantifa, the internationalist scene, certain groups connected to oldschool PLFP, and most of the authoritarian Left (connected to authcom parties etc.), plus antimilitarists who are "against Putin but against war" and defend appeasement. and BSW of course.outside of Germany? generally authcoms, trotskys and dinosaurs like Mélenchon, plus a lot of the Latinamerican Pink Wave like Lula and the militant arm of their parties.

New text on the blog: " Oh no you don’t get to blame Netanyahu: Against Germanic bothsideism"https://anarcholatina.blackblogs.org/oh-no-you-dont-get-to-blame-netanyahu-against-germanic-bothsideism/> The Israeli ethnostate is a colonial enterprise no matter which "wing" of government it props up. Putting a "leftist" government in Israel might give us a much-needed ceasefire but it wouldn't stop the genocide, any more than the "progressive" governments of Canada stopped their indigenous genocide. The only path to justice and peaceful coexistence in Palestine is the same as in any settler colony: land back, reparations, right of return, and institutional equality, i.e. the end of the Israeli settlement project. (blackblogs goes down periodically; if it's down for you right now, here's an archive link https://web.archive.org/web/20241008073720/https://anarcholatina.blackblogs.org/oh-no-you-dont-get-to-blame-netanyahu-against-germanic-bothsideism )

It's frustrating that with catastrophe after catastrophe people still are so reluctant to discuss retaliation against the owners and shareholders of ecocidal companies. If one talks of doing violence to skinhead nazi punks everyone is like, yass slay. But an oil executive who knowingly profited from the death of millions, a landowner who ordered the murder of indigenous folk to burn rainforest, a capitalist who invests in climate disinformation campaigns—damage on a scale that the skinhead nazi can only dream of, and somehow it is taboo to even suggest that maybe our ancestors had a point in their predilection for arson, bombs, insurgent tactics, and assassinations.I blame a few tendencies for this—the disastrous "anti-militarism" of First World activists, the success of police fear campaigns in terrifying people too much for direct action, a generalised phobia of the situation of violence—but most of all I think this is because even climate activists are still invested in the illusion of normalcy, even while understanding collapse. The military occupations we all live under have told us that we aren't at war, and people will cling as long as they can to the routines given to us—university, jobs, marriage—to avoid the reality that our enemies are in power and killing more of us every day.

I don't have anything especially informed to say, but I want to blog online anyway to cope.1. With the Presidency, the Senate, probably the House, and, importantly, the Supreme Court, there's no legalist barriers to fascism left in the USA. The system has some inertia and I don't expect to see project 2025 by February; capital doesn't like disruption. But any shakeup, like a climate disaster or war escalation, may now lead to power grabs that will make the Patriot Act feel like the good old days.2. Similarly, I don't know how much the world's most powerful corporations will let Musk bring the Milei treatment to the USA. But Musk will be more powerful than ever and absolutely insufferable. For those who haven't been destroying your sanity by following this man, he's been full masks-out for a while about his white supremacism, routinely boosting literal Hitlerist Nazis and racist conspiracies. He's also self-destructing, and I have no idea if he will be in a hospital next year or history's cringiest Goebbels. I hope his own energy of "whatever is the funniest happens" manifests and results in Trump uncerimonously throwing him under the bus.
