       Interesting factoid: acc to Ofcom, 6% of people in the UK are digitally excluded, but acc to that article as many as 13% of Conservative party members don't have email addresses https://www.ofcom.org.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0022/234364/digital-exclusion-review-2022.pdf presumably this in part because of age

       I'm pretty sure most people don't care about party politics but quality of life for themselves and (hopefully) others. Personally I find it pretty stomach churning to hear a constant preoccupation with the survival of one political party when millions of children are in poverty.

       I just tried to make my Mastodon bio a bit more explanatory. I've noticed it can be tough to work out who people are and what they might be posting if you don't recognise their name/profile pic. As character counts are longer there's a chance to say more, and I've opted to explain the kinds of things I'm likely to post, not where I work, so people can see what they're in for. This feels like a chance to build community with intention, not just replicate Twitter, so am up for exploring that.
