@dcc @dushman I mostly wanted to do other things with the vps, he suggested an instance and I thought it was cool so I let him do whatever he wanted. Why the nukes? I think the first time the software he picked was shitty, the second time nginx shat itself, then too many things installed at the same time fucked up the system and he couldn't unfuck it.Now we're just using docker for as many things as we can.The whole ordeal is really cool for both of us though, the only reason I started self hosting is to learn something while doing something fun I feel compelled to work for, he gets to practice and improve his own skills and at the same time he gets to help me improve which I reckon is something he likes.Furthermore there's another thing worth mentioning, this has been a very nice bonding experience and we're growing closer as friends, which I gotta say as cheesy as it sounds is the part of this that I'm the happiest about.
