MASTER AND COMMANDER: It’s a shame this never became a multi-film franchise, because no other movie I’ve seen brings me into this nautical period with such heart and attention to detail. The golden age of sail can only be enjoyed as much if you were to read Patrick O’Brien’s books on which this movie was based.

THE PRESTIGE: Nolan is going to be remembered for things like Interstellar, The Dark Knight, etc, but The Prestige is my favorite. The time period, the magical theme, brilliant cast. Love it.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: I’ve probably seen this movie 2-300 times, and I’ve never not enjoyed it. It’s the movie of my childhood, and beyond that is a very well done film, especially considering its budget and that it was an indie.

@debugninja I felt that way when I saw it in theater. But it's a good movie, and worth watching. I think it does a solid job discussing the importance of mental health, while also being very aware of what type of people fetishize the Joker.

- I don't know who's producing it, but Gerard's really lost in the mud. The whole mix feels unpolished, which is probably intentional, but for a 6 minute epic, I'd prefer a bit more care. Getting "Death Magnetic" vibes mix-wise.- Lyrics feel very autobiographical, which is cool.- No Toro solo, which makes me sad.- I'm not terribly in love with it, but MCR is like pizza: There is no bad MCR.

Morning. Fedi things I’ve noticed since I’ve joined:1. There’s a lot of unique people here that are utterly different than me. NB, on gender journeys, furries, a kaleidoscope of sexual orientations, and many of them prefer Linux. 2. They all are having more fun, more real candid conversations, and bonding digitally than anything I observed in my decade+ on birdsite. 3. They seem to be fulfilling the original promise of the internet here in these verdant e-valleys while so much of the rest of discourse and networking is scorched earth on its way to ash. 4. I like it here.

@Rasp she’s more like copy editing than content, so she could go over grammar/punctuation/etc but limited in plot flow feedback. 3 cents a word I think is her rate.
