spent a day of my life writhing to come back full circle and yield a net zero trying to fix cyberchudoriginally the PIT is hijacked to run at 11025hz which inferior platforms (Windows) are unable to run accurately thus running 10x slower due to the highest precision period timer being an MS-DOS driver from 1989 that can fire at maximum 1ms with +/-500µs precisionthe tick counter and sound callback relies on this PIT interval, the ticks are trivial to replace with RDTSC since templeos automatically calibrates cnts.time_stamp_freq on boot with the system timerattempting to just set cpu_structs[0].profiler_timer_irq for the sound callback thus getting the sound callback to fire at 1000hz comes to the realization that the sound assets are already processed with aubiopitch without the original in the repo so the only option is to cope and seethe about not being able to output sound even though the pitches are at maximum 1ms apart (usually ~10ms) and there shouldn't be an issue even without jupiter and neptune aligning if i can get my hands in the wav'sPUSH RBX PUSH R12 PUSH R13 PUSH R14 PUSH 15 can just be replaced with PUSH RBX since both sysv and templeos save r1{2,3,4,5} so no need to excessively push them, so that's the only thing salvageable but completely unrelated to the original issueall in all this boils down to absolutely nothing, might as well take this as a sign from god to partake in a lesser evil (making my own) or commit treason (start playing around with k again)

@crunklord420 do the sound effects in cyberchud really require the 11025Hz precision (MY_DIVISOR), the sound effects in assets/snd mostly have pitches that are 1ms~10ms apart but i have no way to verify them by reencoding with aubiopitch due to the original wav’s not being in the repo

definitely a lot of fun having your mind meticulously torture you with guilt and self-resentment at every single thought or action and recite the hopelessly incomplete but sufficient list of instances you’ve wronged people, the fact that it’s all in your head makes it so much worse because you cannot simply cut off the afflicted body as you would do you physical ailments without making yourself a mindless meat bag unable to take care of itself and inflicting even more pain and nuisance onto others
