I really love programming when I am interested in the problem to solve. But as soon as I just don't care about the problem I get nothing done. It is like as switch in my brain that flips and all I wanna do is anything but write that code to solve that problem. Anyone else have this? It bugs me because it makes me kinda unusable in a professional context. Although the pressure of making money was enough most of the time to make me do it.

@Doomed_Daniel Do you have other strategies other than medication? Not against meds (not at all actually) but I wonder if there is a "mind-trick" one can do that also helps.

@aral @Codeberg Haha. Yeah, I started to move to sourcehut and it is great. Sure, not as flashy but it works really well and the devs are no evil fuckfaces as the microsoft people are.

@gfxstrand It is also a massive wast of energy (in terms of natural resources). So no, even if AI found something great, I don't want it. I'd rather have a few nice engineers who genuinely like what they do and actually *know* something take it 10 years to get to that 1% boost (that most likely breaks something else btw). So maybe yes, harrass that idiot who did that. Sorry, but I think nice words won't help. Just get them OUT.

OK fuck it. I rewrite the Python code in C. Python is just an abysmal piece of shit.I need fucking TYPES and not some fancy oneliners that let me initialize 2d-array. I rather type out a few lines and be able to debug it. Good Lord.

@sol_hsa For sure, Python is fine for certain tasks. I am curious if you wrote it just for yourself or collaborated on the code with others?
