New Idea: Reverse SSHFS MountingWe all sshfs ... to mount a folder on a client that can access an SSH server. What if we want the client to have fewer permissions than the server? What if the server could SSH in to the client, and then mount through the open connection, thus preventing the client from any direct SSH access? (Perhaps SSH isn't even running on the server.)The only risk is you'd have to fsck/verify the client doesn't corrupt the server filesystem somehow.Who can build this?

@mjg59 If a company did this, and an engineer left the company, and then they changed the cert, would this break all historical verification?

@mjg59 So if companies use this it's fine because GitHub performs and then stores that verification flag once on push, but say for anyone else down the road not using GitHub, it would not verify correctly if they didn't check when the cert still had that user in...Am I understanding that right?

@centos Honest question, not trolling, would it be acceptable to have @almalinux and @rockylinux talks there as well? Would they be precluded from being accepted?

I'm looking for a full or partial sponsor for my upcoming trip to CfgMgmtCamp in January.I've been devoting much of my free time to working on the open source #mgmtconfig project in-lieu of a normal full-time job.Your org or self will be publicly and online thanked for such sponsorship, and I can also run a workshop or hacking session with your team of early adopters. Please share and reach out if you can help!Thanks!https://github.com/purpleidea/mgmt/https://cfgmgmtcamp.eu/

@mjg59 Someone has previously made a whole software stack to make improvements to their washing machine. I first saw it over 5-10 years ago, and it should be easy to ddg.

On the 25th of December, there will be a free meal served from 1pm to 7pm in #Montreal, Canada in NDG. It is intended for anyone who is poor, homeless, lonely, low income, or otherwise in need. We've been running this dinner since around 1988. We typically serve over 1000 meals. The meal consists of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cooked vegetables, gravy, and cranberry sauce. Dessert, coffee, and juice is also available. A few other dishes can occasionally be found too.

The address of the event is 4455 West Broadway, just north of Sherbrooke street. It is held in a church, but it is not a religious event, and any religious, atheist, agnostic, etc are all welcome. If you know someone that would benefit please pass on the information. If anyone is curious, here's how many potatoes and onions we use. You can see a 1/2 of the bread for stuffing in the top right. Everything is made fresh.

@cks Many tech's don't care so they might have broken something trying to wire up a new customer. I've even seen tech's break an existing customers connection to get a usable pair for new customer so they can close the job and go home, even though some other person has a broken line now. (That's someone else's problem.)

@luis_in_brief The ASF is not a serious organization anymore, it's where dead, non-copyleft projects go to retire. It exists to benefit corporations using such legacy software, even though it's not a 501(c)(6).

@Conan_Kudo Not even a hot take, "cloud native" is just marketing lingo for proprietary hosting services.

@benjojo obligatory "Jumbotron" is a registered mark of Sony corporation. You may mean "electronic display" or scoreboard.
