@Moon Me getting pissed at the adults in my K–12 years for not getting me a proper ADD diagnosis. I'm not upset they didn't put me on meds back then; I didn't need 'em and heard enough from my classmates who were Ritalin zombies. However, it would've saved me the latter half of my 20s b/c I'd know what was wrong and where to start looking for a fix.

@Moon Looking back, I unintentionally did some major self-sabotage when my grades rocketed up in middle school. Had I continued as I were in 4th–6th grade, it would've been unambiguous that something was wrong. Instead, I got a reprieve from that between middle school through the first half of college before it crept back (and hit full scale once I got my first big boy job and moved out).

@lain I can't speak for @Moon, but my school became much less boring once I got to middle / high and almost all my classes were tracked by ability. I still slummed it in regular peon's English b/c I disliked the subject.Proper time-release meds would probably serve me better than hoping I get the morning coffee-to-food ratio right, let I waste the day with anxiety jitters or shitting.Also strategies for actually using the calendars and checking off the checklists. I was fastidious about keeping my planbook in high school but fell out of the habit in college: 100–200 level STEM classes have a consistent workload where you don't need a journal to keep track of all the deadlines.

@Moon @lain There were definitely cracks showing during my senior year [and junior year, but those were also blamable on me having my first "real" gf and spending too much time fucking and not enough filling out lab reports], but my girlfriend at the time [different than junior year] helped me limp across the finish line with the bare minimum required to earn them shouting cum laude after my name at graduation.Despite neither of my parents exhibiting hallmark ADD symptoms, they both exhibit the same lack of getting shit done that sank my tenure at my first "real" job. They both manage the day-to-day (or even annual, like taxes) tasks without a problem: it's the "special projects" where things just stall out for years on end.Also, fuck doing client-based support work. Was like having three fuckin' bosses.
