@matthew @chris I would never buy a Mac either but can agree. For instance when my wife is done with her Macbook Air I would rather try to put Linux on it than to scrap it right away.

So the Canadian government is continuing to try to get rid of cash. Bill C-2, if passed, will make it illegal to donate $10,000 or more in cash or amounts totaling $10,000 or more in cash to any group. You can bet that they won't stop there, once they can have it set at $10,000 they can always lower it more and more and widen the scope beyond donations. I am willing to bet that donations to political candidates will be exempt, can't have the government misisng out on possible bribe sources. The JCCF has a petition for anybody wanting to sign against it. Regardless of whether you sign the petition I recommend contacting your MP and seeing where they stand on it and making sure they know that a vote hangs in the balance.https://www.jccf.ca/petitions/?mc_cid=75872ad0da#canada #jccf #billc2 #politics #cash

@BastilleBSD Probably either KeePassXC or Gparted. Both are still around. KeePassXC because it gave me exactly what I was looking for in a password manager and Gparted because I was use to the Windows disk manager and Gparted was so much nicer to use.

@BastilleBSD For me it would be Plank or Variety. I don;t know how much I miss them until I go to a distro that doesn't have them.

@matthew I've used the Fediverse, Twitter/X, and Bluesky and I have to say that the Fediverse has far less scumbags than either of the other two. Just my opinion.

It's been a bit since I used Ubuntu Touch and I have a few questions to those who daily drive it: 1. Is there any decent XMPP app on there ? Used to be the few native apps would barely launch.2. How has snap support been ? Do the KeepassXC and Nextcloud snaps work well ?#ubports #ubuntutouch #snapstore #linuxmobile #xmpp

@matthew Can't agree more. I am so tired of people wanting laws to solve all of their problems. They would rather force a company to make the products they want than research and support a company already doing what they want without the government making them do it.

@thenewoil I followed the instructions on the Github. Was easy. Clicked the link which opened F-Droid and I chose to add the repo then clicked to download and install the browser. Working great so far. Great to have more F-Droid options.

Been buying stock for about 4 months now and finally got to vote as a shareholder in one of the companies. I've only got 125 shares out of about 150 million shares total so likely means squat but damn did it feel good.

@boilingsteam Xorg. Only devices I have using Wayland are mobile ARM devices. Distro wise Devuan and Artix are at the top of my list due to how they are handling XLibre.

@boilingsteam I'm late to the poll party but I prefer Mate. I can make do with XFCE or Cinnamon but don't actually enjoy them like I do Mate.
