Since my childhood, one of my aunt used to call me as "Brhaspati" whenever I failed to understand something which she tried to convey. I have asked her, what does it mean. She replied the same. Brhaspati means "makku" in tamil i.e one who is ignorant or a slow learner.Ha, today I understood why Brhaspati which sounds like a name is used to denote that. It is indeed a name of an ancient Indian sage who also wrote Brhaspati Sutras (a text on materialism and atheism). Indeed I am a Brhaspati. 😇

You know that a monopoly has been attained when people refer to a generic practice with a specific name. For example asking how gmail works instead of how email works; search in Google instead of search the web; asking for WhatsApp number instead of phone number, etc.,It is also when we realize the dangers of it and sense the need to fight back the monopolies.

Performed a small experiment on Firefox (FF) v64.0 and Chromium v71.0.3578.80 on a GNU/Linux OS.The experiment is to find out when no tabs are opened and both browsers being idle (i.e no active action from user), whom these browsers are contacting.Communication between Chromium and few other IP address amounts to 423 packets, whereas in case of FF it is 184 packets. Most of TCP packets where used for handshake and rest of TLS were used to send data encrypted which obviously I cannot read.

@fdroidorgI suggest NewPipe should have push messages. Messages like this should be communicated to users directly via app.

Here is what is missing in the popular #OSM based #FOSS apps (#OsmAnd, @CoMaps & @organicmaps) from being a potential replacement for GMaps.1. Photos & Reviews are two most important things that are missing right now. @mangroveReviews and @lib_reviews are here to fill the reviews gap. #WikimediaCommons, @panoramax are here to fill the photos gap.2. Crowdsourced Real time Traffic data. I couldn't find any #opendata platform yet. Though I saw an empty repo created under the CoMaps project. 🤞
