Once again the EU (commission etc) prove that they are 100% useless... After all this time, all the resources they have had, all the money... the EU are nowhere on the internet... the US rule the EU, the rest of the world rule themselves.

@djsumdog A decent human being does not need to join the police to be so.Which of your examples could not be done by a 'civilian'?In the UK the police, wanting to prevent the public undermining them by 'doing the right thing', have had many campaigns begging the public to be cowards, run away and leave it to the police. The public still mostly refuse to be submissive to such police demands (thank god!!)On duty a police officer is a puppet of the state - not an independent person.

@djsumdog FWIW - the UK and USA have fundamentally different views of what 'the police' are ultimately for... in the UK, plod are just supposed to be 'citizens in uniform' doing full time what any citizen would do if they had the time... they (should) have no 'special powers'.The police in the USA are quite different when it comes down to the detail...

@djsumdog So given what you have just written, you are happy with the way things are?As I say, in the UK plod is supposed to be 'citizens in uniform' - yes *of course* every citizen should assert common law (training should not be necessary - unless law makers have f*cked it all up again, so no one knows what is what...).I realise UK and USA law enforcement have different histories/roots and what may be right here may not be right there...https://thecrimepreventionwebsite.com/police-crime-prevention-service---a-short-history/744/the-peelian-principles/

@djsumdog UK Plod are scum. Here is a bloke not wearing a face covering - in the UK there are many exemptions to wearing a mask and it is against the law to *ask* someone what their exemption is.Little Hitler officer in this clip doesn't care...I trust the public far more than I trust plod.

@cy @icedquinn @djsumdog Using the tools at your disposal to protect your way of life seems pretty reasonable -- just a shame that the tax parasites who steal your money claiming that they will do this job for you don't do so.

@djsumdog this is not the law. Any one can self certify as having an exemption, and it is illegal to ask what the exemption is based on, let alone ask for proof. The plod in the video has been told the bloke nas an exemption - that should have been the end of the matter. No decent person would join UK plod. Putting 'The Job' above all else means being prepared to lie and cover up what ever the cost... normal decent folk would not accept this.

@djsumdog ok the main plod is a twat - but what of the others who arrived? A decent cop would have taken him aside, told him he was out of order, and apologised to the victim. The victim needed protection from the first plod... did the other plod provide it?

I want to buy a share in a farm and have dividends paid in produce.I want to buy a share in a trawler and have dividends paid in fish. I want to buy a share in a power station and have dividends paid in electricity.I want to buy a share in a reservoir and have dividends paid in water. If I were a co-owner the government couldn't tax me for consuming my own produce...Live comfortably almost tax free for the rest of my life for a few payments up front.Who else wants to make this happen?.

Consent withdrawn - individual police constables need to decide whether they follow their attestation, or sell out and mindlessly obey orders... No one can pretend that the constables oath and current policing practice are compatible.https://www.brightonandhovenews.org/2020/09/14/police-appeal-for-public-support-as-coronavirus-rules-change/

@aral An independent UK makes no demands on others - what in this could possibly annoy/upset anyone? The UK government (and political class) desperately wants to remain in the EU because is suits their personal motivations - but the British *people* had the final say and they said 'leave, be independent again'.Do you despise the British people and their choice to reject unelected rule from Brussels? If so, why?

A bit of a reach out here...Ages ago (probably a couple of years) I saw some stuff about some open source mobile phone apps in the USA that local communities used to call each other for support because they knew the police wouldn't turn out unless it was a mass murder(!).I have googled everything I can think off, but now I can't find any of thee apps.Any suggestions for links? Cheers!

The links worked, the first seems to have partially morphed into an uber-alike app.I am helping to organise some medics to support protest marches, and was looking for apps that may be useful - Ideally that can be run privately. Copblock could be of interest to the main organisers.

It has been a massive slog so far (and continues to be so) - but bit by bit the foolish 'lefties' are seeing their pro-eu leaders and now pro-lockdown leaders for the evil totalitarians they really are...I meet so many people who thought Caroline Lucas walked on water, now realising that she is just another wannabe dictator/tyrant.

The essence of 'consensus' (and democracy) is to silence the voices that aren't on your side...'You had a say, now shut up'.These are fundamentally evil concepts.

@h4890 Pretty much all of my direct anti lockdown contacts are on telegram. I used to think everyone around here was arty-farty lefty... but this is not the case. And even among those who were so inclined they are seeing that 'the left' are as totalitarian as the far right. And not associating with the lefty swing to the extreme.

@h4890 good that you have catered for population growth... the other thing usually added for 'excess mortality' is age profile... (I have no idea where you'd get that data, I gave up looking!). But these guys drew interesting conclusions. https://lockdownsceptics.org/2021/01/13/latest-news-253/#2020-saw-most-deaths-since-1918-2008.
