it's funny to me that before I even knew about the trans community, several times earlier in my life I have unintentionally "passed" as a girl. I used to have hair that went down to the middle of my back (before catholic school made me cut it all off). Once when I was at the airport, I was tired and in baggy clothes and accidentally set off the scanner. It took me awhile to realize that the TSA woman calibrated it to "female", and it picked up you know what.
