I believe there are better alternatives than gab out there, some dude made a list of good instances of both Mastodon, Pleroma and Misskey, i don't recall where i found it, but i can remember that he recommended freespeechextremist.com, shitposter.club, kiwifarms.cc and neckbeard.xyz were recommended, so might be worth checking out
