Hello everyone! This is my #introduction. I am a professor of computer science (That's Dr. Pngwen to you! 😉 ) at Southeast Missouri State University.I am passionate about all things computing and math related. I really enjoy artificial intelligence and biomimicry. I always liked the micro-blogging concept, but often felt like I was talking to myself. Hopefully, it's different here. Let's chat!#compsci #retrocomputing#programming#geek

I'm packing my bags this morning and headed to Gatlinburg Tennessee to chair the 64th annual ACM Mid-Southeast Conference. This conference is always one of my favorites.https://www.acmmidsoutheast.org/

@profoundlynerdy You need to learn OS development next. The traditional route was the Lions book, which gives you an annotated listing of the original UNIX source. Mit has the xv6 kernel and corresponding book available online. This is a modern teaching OS equivalent. https://pdos.csail.mit.edu/6.828/2025/xv6.html I use that along with the open source textbook https://www.ostep.org when teaching my os course. Work through that and read the xv6 book, and you'll be a kernel hacker in no time!
