Planted some Crocus and Hyacinth bulbs today. Every fall, I plant more bulbs along the driveway. Every Spring, I always wish I'd planted WAY more. Oh well, we do what we can. Not sure exactly how to caption, but it's a photo of two empty bulb bags. #plants #flowers #bulbs #solarpunk #zone6

Does anyone have any connections with wikipedia? Is there any way we can get the solarpunk entry undeleted? #technology #wikipedia

Happy New Year for people into this particular calendar. I hope everyone is drinking adequate water tonight, so that tomorrow is also an excellent day.

@socalledunitedstates @piponfishing Incidentally, that's why so much of anarchist talk reads as White Privilege, esp in an American context. Only white people can be flippant about the potential of the cops being called when Black and Native American people are still dying on the streets, in the jails, in the prisons just for existing, let alone breaking arbitrarily enforced laws.

Ran across this article on r/solarpunk - https://www.fastcompany.com/90294948/what-happened-when-oslo-decided-to-make-its-downtown-basically-car-free - and thought it was so awesome I started to email local and nearby city council people (they all have online bios, you can figure out who is most left-leaning in case you don't already know). Unexpectedly, I already received a positive response back, they said they were excited and sending it to other council members! It never hurts to suggest good ideas to your local elected officials. They tend to respond best to ideas that other cities are already successfully doing. #speakup #urbanpolicy

@cdmnky Just as a quick history lesson for anyone who might not know: plant patent laws have existed in the USA for about a hundred years now, so plant breeders wouldn't starve - specifically Luther Burbank, who is responsible for breeding hundreds of fruit trees, some of which are still used today. He is probably best known for breeding the Santa Rosa plum. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plant_Patent_Act_of_1930 and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luther_Burbank

About to go on a weeding rampage. This is my weeding/guerrilla gardening theme song . Even if you think you don't like this sort of music, try hanging around to Dessa's part (1:40) which is amazing. The lyrics are solarpunk af. "My girl gave me a bolt cutter / We love to break in / Reclaim all the spaces / They forgot they had taken / And all this is ours / It's gonna be what we make it / If only the stars were close enough we would paint them" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWDHxK_HfOw #music #doomtree

#Introductions 🌻 Professional plant person. Fled the city to a fixer upper property; set up a homestead/food forest in the mountains of #Appalachia with my partner and cats. Used to co-run a community garden. Nerd. Hort/ag/food policy is my jam, as well as soil science. Here to learn, and to share what I've learned. #diy #solarpunk #gardening #homesteading #foodforest #herbivore

@friendlymike Chicken people tell me chickens enjoy eating them, I've heard of people taking the filled traps and feeding chickens. If you can handle the $$$ and are patient (can take a few years), milky spore can help break their lifecycle though.
