@fortunatefool Ok, had a brief email exchange with the RIPE responsibel person for iana.de, and more then 12h later I am sure thst he will not show up in the thread 👆 to clarify things. The good news is, the domain didn't get compromised by a third party. However it's a "customer domain" hosting a "non-harm research project".I am not sure if these instances federate to others, but if they do, my best guess will be, that they are mining data for some advertising business.

@fortunatefool If you get followed by an account from those instances, my serious advice is to block that account for #privacy s sake.I hope #MastodonAdmins will make resposible decisions if a #Fediblock is a appropiate step here.I mean, it's a freaking #Botnet from all we can see./sorry to bother you on a #sunday with this sh1t.
