       I have no idea how to do anything here, so on a steep learning curve.  I've  had an aversion to Facebook and Twitter, so basically no social media skills excerpt some learned on Instagram. As a photographer I've used Instagram quite a lot, mainly to enjoy the photos of others and to share a few of mine, but have been feeling increasingly uncomfortable and considering my future with Insta. #newbie #mastodonlearningcurve

       New Zealand's first overseas cable link, to Australia, was opened here at Cable Bay on 21 February 1876, establishing a connection with the worldwide telegraph network via Sydney. This new service meant communications to Europe took only four days instead of up to six months for letters. Cable Bay is a bay and small settlement north-east of  #Whakatū #Nelson.        @drhafezster By the way, this is Te Waipounamu, the South Island, which those of us who live here call the mainland.  The bottom of  Te Ika-a-Māui, the North Island, is visible at the top of the photo
