"Architects look at thousands of buildings during their training, and study critiques of those buildings written by masters. In contrast, most software developers only ever get to know a handful of large programs well—usually programs they wrote themselves—and never study the great programs of history. As a result, they repeat one another's mistakes rather than building on one another's successes. " #opensourcehttps://aosabook.org/en/index.html

@mayel don't give people tools, give them tools to make tools and let them run and do their own thing in freedomWe have a serious problem with digital being a super elitist affair that prevents the vast majority of people from participating in this new type of economyJust for kicks, which piece of software, of any period, domain or origin does actually enable a *regular* person to create a new service that is not already "preprogrammed"?

@bob it is worthwhile to do a post-mortem of the reasons that brought us here. Otherwise we are bound to end up in similar nightmare.I think a core problem is the failure to radically simplify the IT stack so that a much larger number of people are intimate with what is going on and are able to configure/use tech for the own purposes as opposed to "consuming" itAfter all Facebook is just a freaking database accessible over http

@thegibson I don't have the numbers handy but should be cumulative inflation since last minimum wage raise. Not going against your argument, just warning that with inflation and inflation expectations rising smart companies will time it right to reap the good will
