Today I'm too busy and too tired to anything more than just learning more about Python decorators, which I only grasp but don't use (at least not very often).I've written two: one taking no arguments, and one taking an argument.https://untalkative.one/projects:decadv:2023#december_6th#DecemberAdventure

Today I've continued learning about #Python decorators. I've written one that emits an auditing event when decorated function is called.https://untalkative.one/projects:decadv:2023#december_7th#DecemberAdventure

Today's #DecemberAdventure was improving error-handling: if Lacre fails to load identities from its database, the admin can choose to:- deliver cleartext,- bounce message.https://untalkative.one/projects:decadv:2023#december_10th

Maybe Fedi is like email? Maybe Big Tech will continue making sure its interoperability and usability are poor, so most of the people would go for corporate shit like Facebook, Slack and what not, because <place your excuse here>, while we can continue doing our things outside of the walled gardens?#threads #rant #BigTech #gafam

It's so nice that #pytest's documentation is readable on #Netsurf. Python Packaging User Guide is not...- pytest: https://docs.pytest.org/en/7.4.x/index.html- pypa: https://packaging.python.org/en/latest/guides/distributing-packages-using-setuptools/

Today #DecemberAdventure was just about hunting a bug. I continued self-dogfooding, adding --delete option to queue sub-command of #Lacre admin CLI tool.https://untalkative.one/projects:decadv:2023#december_19thNow each day it's going to be harder to find time to code...

I recall reading a "computer horror story", most probably around 2005-2010 but dated earlier, maybe much earlier, that involved a computer room with floor tiles and a short circuit, probably below those tiles. The story described the long process of investigating the issue and I was thrilled to read it.It was comparable to the Unix recovery legend and to VAXen, my children, just don't belong in some places. Please boost and if you know that story or anything that sounds at least close to it -- please share! If you help me find the one I'm looking for, you'll be my hero for at least a week!

After attending #FOSDEM and going to the Declarative and Minimalistic Computing devroom last Sunday (2.02.2025), I've decided to install #Guile #Scheme again. Now I'm looking around, skimming documentation and other online resources and gosh I love it! All these pages bring early not-only-IE web from 2000-2005 years.Just look at these beauties!GNU Guile learning resourcesSchemers.org

Long time ago, probably on X/Twitter, there used to be an account that posted computer-science papers daily (or weekly? I'm no longer sure). The person behind it really did a great job of finding interesting CS research. That was really cool. :blobfoxnerd:

LMAO, what a failure! :blobfoxlaugh: Someone set up a coffee grinder "review" with automatically updated information but didn't take into account that the information could be absent and so we get a review that goes:Priced at just Price not available, it offers a blend of versatility, build quality, and grind consistency that you’d typically find in more expensive models. Imagine a fediverse client, but instead of an interface optimised for shitposting, it would organise items to enable research. To be more specific, it could:cluster "similar" or "relevant" items;focus on hashtags much more than on identities/accounts;form a reading list from starred and/or bookmarked items.I wonder if anybody would use that kind of software. :blobfoxthinking:
