@hankg I like the fact that I can tap the like button more easily, but it is definitely going to be confusing for a lot of people. Besides Twitter, Mastodon (which copied Twitter) and other Fediverse apps that copy Mastodon, pretty much everywhere the order is like "like, comment, share"Is there any way to customize or at least revert to the old layout for those of us that weren't really looking for a Twitter-like experience? At least in your app?

@taylorlorenz don't be shy on testing waters on other ActivityPub based platforms as well. You get the same audience and the same people, while enjoying these platforms' particular features. Friendica, for example, has a DM inbox already, as well as Quote Posts. You can also add titles to your posts, as well as format your text using #markdown or #BBCode, and many other features that haven't made their way into Mastodon just yet (or were already for years when Mastodon added them). Not to mention you can write texts as long as your heart desires, as there's no limit on them (and they appear just as long on Mastodon).A good and fairly popular Friendica server is venera.social

@anderspuck pretty much their only chance is to catch it on another mission. Otherwise only a knizhal or shaheed or ay other long range thing will get it. Unless that thing picks another civilian building instead (likely deliberately. Like it happens almost all the time)...@Moira

@anubis2814 the global feed is already filled by Mastodon posts fwiw (at least on my end). When Reddit had the crisis in summer, Lemmy threads came to fill the space. I would certainly not be surprised to see Threads taking the place of both when their federation will go live.@heluecht @hypolite

@taur10 I usually quote-share the RSS Article. That button should be available. The shared article should be displayed as a link@FediTips

@taur10 Here is an example from my feed. It's the third button down there (the one that's not grayed out). Can you see it from your end as well?@FediTips

@taur10 Yes, I was referring to sharing. I thought that's what you were looking for πOr if you're actually looking for something else than Friendica that has RSS functionality and allow sharing... hmm, I don't know π Feedly also allows you to share articles and add a custom share button (if you don't care that it's proprietary, and it's yet another silo) but that's a paid feature (and I never tried it).@FediTips

@taur10 yea, I get it. Too many features can be overkill sometimes. Even I do not use all the feeds all the time, but at least I can disable whatever I don't need, so there is less clutter. For me, the biggest drawback of fedi lies in the variety of content. I really gotta dig deeper to find whatever I need, and hashtags don't always work either.

@taur10 yea, these are not really separate feeds, but rather some sorting options of the same feed. In your case, from what I saw: Latest Activity - sorting by order of the most recent activity of your follows. So if an older post receives a new comment, it gets shown on top of other posts, despite the original post being older than others (because there's a new activity on it). Latest posts - newer original posts only. Kinda like on Mastodon. That's the default view I chose. Latest creation - that I don't know, but for some reason I forgot to disable it. Will think about it. Personal - posts you interracted with, or your own. Starred - think of it like a bookmarks thingYou get the point: these tabs belong to pretty much the same feed of your follows - like Home if I'm not mistaken (like you said)? But these sorting options work like those on Reddit. Nothing too complicated for me, at least.I don't know, to each their own. I kinda like narrowing down my feed, even though I do not use them all all the time. But if you use the latest stable version, you can choose what to display or not. I think they're kinda going all in on the channels feature? Everything except circles seems to be a channel in the settings that you can enable its view or not.

@taur10 For me I would just be happy to remove some of the redundant options, now that you've mentioned. Like, you can access your profile from the drop-down under your profile name, as well as that home button at the top. I'd like to customize that one as well to remove some of the options I never use from there as well π

@notjustbikes Meanwhile, the only themed train in our country is this:Out of curiosity, do you plan to visit the Balkans as well, since you're in Europe? There's plenty to say about trains in these countries, and plenty to criticize, so you can surely get a lot to create content about. π

Credits go to @kmh for creating this style. It comes in both a light and dark version (check the links for usage instructions). If you don't want to fiddle with code and stuff, loma.ml has already installed it server-wide, and should be available straight away for new accounts (If not, go to Settings>Display>General Theme Settings and change it from there. Or follow the guide in any of the links above).
