@internetarchive “His papers are difficult to access (by appointment only to those “conducting research for which it is necessary”), not digitized, and you’re not allowed to reproduce them without permission from the Caltech (‘California Institute of Technology’) archives and his heirs.”How infuriating!

@clive it’s heartbreaking that this clerk discovers that people chose to believe conspiracy garbage instead of the person they’ve known for years.

Growing up, I never got in the habit of annotating physical books (and ebooks scarcely existed). You see, most books I read were not mine. I was reading books from the public library, from the school library, a school textbook, borrowed from a friend, or borrowed from my grandma (Mom’s mom bought novels in hardback the day they came out, can you believe it? No discounts or anything!). The few paperbacks I owned were my showpieces, so I didn’t annotate those either.

@Sandra I miss a lot of technology being optional. When nobody expected you to have Google/Apple, then you could have a smartphone that ran PalmOS, or WinCE, or a feature phone… whatever worked for you.Nowadays, for lots of technology, not just smartphones, we simply don’t have any choice.
