       Watching the emergence of #hivesocial over the last few days. Mastodon trended on birdsite for ~10 days. Users should own their identity, not instance admins IMHO.With appropriate safeguards against key/ID loss such as https://darkcrystal.pw/ I'm unclear if Webauthin can act as a DID provider as used in atprotocol https://github.com/bluesky-social/atproto/discussions/363#discussioncomment-4197446

       @blaine Bluesky/Atprotocol are using interrelated forms of ID the handle and the DID https://atproto.com/guides/identityMy dream would be interop between these interesting emerging technologies.So I create my keys on Reticulum/Sideband. I can use these keys to create a handle that's compatible with Atproto & Mastodon. I can authenticate with these services via webauthin which queries my local keys.My friends keep these keys safe through https://darkcrystal.pw/@jeffjarvis @dansinker @simon @darius
