@tante I feel like it would be less creepy if machines were actually conscious now, but they're not. It's just the ghost that people imagine for themselves. 2023's "AI" is just proxying the Wisdom of the Crowd through a machine oracle. There's no consciousness there except what originates in the minds of the human trainers and content filterers.

FYI, Aiden Hale was the shooter in Nashville, not Audrey. Please villify shooters with manifestos and discuss toxic masculinity as you like but DO NOT misgender this person, compounding tragic issues with callous transphobia. Or at least don't do it in front of me if you don't want to get reported and blocked.

@cliffwade I got diagnosed with leukemia 1 year after lockdowns started in my area (3/2021), so I've been getting regular testing (mostly PCR) and immune support 2 doses of Euvsheld, and because of timing and stem cell transplants (which resets vaccines) I've had 7 COVID shots so far and super paranoid masking (P100 respirators for the first 9 months, then a well-fit 3M N95 Aura after that and still). My partner has a higher risk job situation than I (community college instructor for a trade skills department that teaches in person). I stay at home for now. She tests with rapid tests weekly and they lock down every time a student gets COVID and she wears a KF94 every day all day.But as far as we know, neither of us have ever had COVID.As for the leukemia, I've been in remission since the stem cell transplant I got in August 2021. Fingers crossed.

Apparently the COVID-19 public health emergency is declared over on May 11th? And by November, tests and vaccines with insurance will no longer be free in California.I don't think I need to say this to my followers, but this is very shitty. We cannot legislate away a virus that is still very much active, that is disproportionally hitting marginalized, disabled people. Just another in a long line of genocidal activity in the US and federal and local government.Still disappointing though. I wonder if we will ever truly manage to make the US great. You know, by making basic human needs socialist. Food, clothing, shelter, climate, (physical and emotional) health, wellness, anti-addiction care, education, information, art, culture, equity, opportunity, and making it truly okay to just take good care of each other. Instead of the hellscape we have now. Having these things the world over would be grand too.

Does anyone have "Pernicious Anemia"? The kind that boils down to a Vitamin B metabolism dysfunction? If so, I'd love to talk symptoms. My health care team is still being ineffectual at diagnosing my post-stem-cell-transplant anemia and now I am suspecting I maybe always had a tendency to Pernicious Anemia. Boosts welcome!
