       @rbreich Really remarkable that the primary means by which this feat was accomplished was by impoverishing enough young people, starting in 2008, that a lot of them can't afford cars and therefore can't die in them.

       @lauren Absolutely? Unquestionably? Many US media outlets were pro-Hitler, the NYT not least among them. CNN choosing to feature Trump with a Daily Caller journalist is completely in character. Not only will US media boost Trump during a campaign, they'll stand in support afterwards when the camps open. They don't think it's wrong and don't care that you do.

       @lauren You're always going to have local administration making decisions that you occasionally disagree with. For instance Facebook blocked all climate pages five years ago - you can still make one, but it won't reach anyone. The difference is that a decision that affects 1000 people is a lot different than one that affects millions, and one is a lot more appealable than the other.

       This is the permanent future. Smoky days, flash thunderstorms at weird times, occasional heat domes, droughts, tremendous hurricanes. Eventually we'll get the Big One, a heat dome that will kill millions over a week or two. But there will be nothing to be done about it. It won't be a one-off. Non-smokers will die of lung cancer and there won't be anything to be done about it. Kids born today will never know a world without smoke. #climate #ClimateChange
