@Wolven if enough papers for refused at the beginning, development in that sector might had been prevented at the beginning. Peer review wasn't working, now probably is dead...

@selea One day, with one update that opt in will turn into an opt out. With another update that will turn into "break the OS if opted out...". Track record of M$ is terrible on this. I remember only the time, they backed out from "IE as an integral part of OS", and that was under serious governmental pressure.Strangely most "enterprise" computer usage can be easily move away from MS these days, with many Office alternatives and most operational stuff is on web. They only need to beat habits.

@selea Please note that I sold my last car two years ago, and I havea little business with some national charger networks (yea, mismatching positions 🙂).Those being said, all you need in a good charger is a reliable and preferably replaceable contactor and as little electronics as possible. All "smartness" you need should stay in the car, especially in home charger scenarios. Your local market might differ but here the best contactor suppliers are Siemens and to a lesser extend ABB.

@selea I assume behind the hype is the serious drive to collect as much as training data as possible. If they tell people "we will use your data to optimise our ML cost functions" that wouldn't be very attractive, commercially. Frankly in any case, given the current CPU and energy heavy status of the technology, ML based solutions would not be "saviours" they are advertised to be.

@selea we shouldn't accepted systemd's position at the beginning. They are trying to become the whole OS, while turning into VMS/Windows

@selea I made a similar mistake recently, but managed to squeeze an "AI generated crap" into my comment. Seems to be useful in filtering out recruiters...
