Dear #openbsd and #playonbsd prosI'm looking to setup a java Minecraft server setup on openbsd however it keep crashing when calling the command line to fire it up. I am trying to start it under an unprivileged system user and I'll admit my skills in doing that are not strong. Is there some specific java runtime version I should be using or some other system variable I need to set to get it to start? Or better is there a guide for dummies out there that I just didn't find in my searches?

Dear #lazytoot I'm trying to get a firewall spin of #openbsd installed called UTMFW - has all of the goodies that I have struggled with pre installed! My problem is the .iso. I dd'ed it and didn't boot. I used ddrescue on Linux, still no joy. I looked at what I dd'ed and I can da read it but it isn't laid out like I would anticipate. Anyone dealt with similar before? Am I going to have to burn a cdrom?

After my upgrade to #openbsd 6.7 last night I ran into a problem with amavisd - it was failing the rc.d script I rand it by hand and it spit out this:DBI.c: loadable library and perl binaries are mismatched (got handshake key 0xb700000, needed 0xb600000)I bet I could cpan upgrade all of this but I like to stick with the distro #perl packages instead of going rogue. Any suggestions? Reinstall the DBI package? Think there is some hidden older version getting pulled in by amavisd? TIA!!

Thanks to a post from @ParadeGrotesque recently I found a blind spot (well severally, really) in my shell command daily usage. As a result I've started using lsof much more so I can know precisely who I'm going to piss off when I bounce a machine that I just ran updates on.

So I've noticed a number of #gemini clients also do finger. While I'm all about the nostalgia, wasn't having finger open to the world considered a security risk because then it could expose usernames? Am I over thinking this? I kind of like the idea of making your .plan .profile a bit of a personal intro page, maybe even pgp public key and whatever else. Thoughts?

@julienxxYes! This is awesome! I was thinking it would be cool to overload the fingerd server to publish the contents of a file, maybe .finger or something that doesn't spit out login info and paths. Super cool stuff! I see I can run it with a -P and get creative from there I suppose
