@kazuma I didn't notice it 10+ years ago when I first read it. But I certainly notice it now and it really makes me super sad. Given other things in the book, I think the author has a problem with some unaddressed ableism. It's so disappointing, because I otherwise adore the book.

I do not believe that trans people have any obligation to ever come out to anyone as trans. Not even a spouse.*MAYBE* as infertile, if that applies. I'll give a person that. I don't know anything about the ethics of that among cis people, but if that's a thing there, that applies here too, I guess?But otherwise, no. It's no one's business unless you want to choose to share that with a person.

It should be noted that this is entirely separate from the question of whether or not it is *safe* to choose not to share this information. There are serious risks with keeping it private and having it discovered involuntarily later on. But still.

So my computer was getting a little longer in the tooth, so I decided to upgrade the CPU. This lead to a series of misadventures that has yet to fully resolve. I am very AAAAAAAUGH.So to start with, I ordered new RAM, new CPU, and new motherboard. Once I got the motherboard in, I took apart the old machine. As I did so, I noticed that the RAM was the same ram I had just bought... So I didn't need to buy more...Oh well, extra RAM isn't horrible.. Continued install.

Well this is legally interesting. These folks just generated every 12 (or less) note single octave melody that could ever exist and recorded it to a physical medium, meeting the legal requirements to have copyrighted a song.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJtm0MoOgiUBasically, they just copyrighted literally every copyrightable melody...
