I don't particularly understand the obsession with "liberals/leftists should start stockpiling guns". The idea that merely owning a weapon will win you a war is a conservative delusion that seems to have made its way onto the left.

@JazzAficionado Honestly don't think this is that big of a deal. Vinyl chloride is a gas at room temperature and has a pretty okay half life of 1.5 days in the air. When it burns, it turns primarily into phosgene, which although very acutely toxic when concentrated, dissipates rapidly and has negligible trace toxicity.Vinyl chloride is particularly dangerous as an occupational pollutant, given constant exposure of low concentration (1/2)

@JazzAficionado I have a hard time accepting this as uniquely damaging moreso than the plants that leak it constantly into the air, or that leak actual persistent pollutants like PLOPs or PFASes, and I wish people didn't suddenly get concerned about environmental science when the pollution is unintentional and part of a literal trainwreck.

@kura @Rachel_Thorn Might be a good idea for all concerned to report this to https://github.com/misskey-dev/misskey/issues

@shacker This is a bad take. The social system that conditions your basic human rights on meeting a set of obligations is called fascism.

@mbonsma The problem is that they want any cyclist involvement in any casualty whatsoever to be attributed to cyclists. They would promote the idea that the roads would be totally safe if it weren't for those pesky cyclists, that cyclists are the proximate cause of every traffic casualty irrespective of whether they are involved.

@stux One of the worst parts is that the company is actually to blame for having specifically designed their app to be habit-forming, but the dynamic is like unto the parent giving their child a habit-forming thing to occupy them because they're too busy, and childcare is too expensive, and the outdoors too car-centric and dangerous, for an alternative.
